Francisco Gella, founding artistic director of the New Century Dance Project (NCDP), invites the submission of choreographic work to be considered for inclusion in the 2020 Festival Works Concert on Friday, August 14 and the Student Choreographers Showcase on Thursday, August 13. Choreography selected for Festival Works Concert will be presented in Downtown Salt Lake City’s 550-seat Jeanne Wagner Theatre, home to resident companies Repertory Dance Theatre and the Ririe Woodbury Dance Company. The work of student choreographers will be showcased in the Leona Wagner Black Box.
Choreography in any dance genre or style may be submitted. The festival’s creative team encourages innovative and contemporary approaches to choreography, including fused forms (e.g. contemporary ballet, contemporary jazz, African-modern, contemporary hip-hop, etc.), dance theater, and experimental work; international dance styles and traditions, and work influenced by such are also encouraged. Diversity of work, performers and choreographers is highly valued.
